Once the Sultan's most favorite beach and enjoyed to swim here

Küçüksu beach located in ÜSKÜDAR where once Murad IV a Sultan of the Ottoman Empire enjoyed to swim and called his favorite beach “Silver Cypress”.

Küçüksu beach has been reopened two years ago. This small sandy enclave on the north eastern shore of the Bosphorus is public, but beware as the currents here can get tricky and best left to non-amateurs. If your lucky you might see some dolphins!

The district where Küçüksu and Göksu Creeks are located is called the “Fresh water of Asia”, and was once used as one of the major gardens of the Sultan, with the name “Oil Lamp Garden” in the 18th century.

Küçüksu and Göksu Creeks, reflect the old Istanbulites’ life styles and habits with its historical buildings, poems, music and natural beauties.

Sile just 70 kilometers from Istanbul. The widespread sandy beaches and the ruins of a Genoese castle draw visitors year round.

Sile just 70 kilometers from Istanbul. The widespread sandy beaches and the ruins of a Genoese castle draw visitors year round. Most of the beaches offer changing rooms, toilets and restaurants, and there is a fairly wide range of hotels and pensions, and in summer they are best booked in advance. Buses leave Istanbul regularly from the Harem bus station.

It is a delightful holiday center, close to Istanbul, offering excellent fish restaurants and hotels. The Şile highway is almost completed however the remainder of the road is narrow and very crowded on weekends.

There is also a very nice picnic area, which belongs to the municipality, on the entrance to the district. If you turn left before the entrance to Şile and drive for about 2 km you’ll arrive at Kumbaba (Sand Father). This is a camping area with a marvelous beach and fine sand where you can find changing cabins, showers, toilettes and a small buffet selling refreshments and sandwiches.

In a small little romantic bay that’s completely a beach.

it’s actually one of the most romantic places around. In a small little bay that’s completely a beach. Although crowded in summer, the excellent fish restaurant Uzunya Balik’s is quiet and romantic in winter. You can also rent out little spaces where you can go with your caravan, car or tent. The fresh sea air, lots of good food, and peace and quiet, the perfect place to get up to no good naughtiness. The place is also very popular for motorbikers that visit this spot frequently.

Kilyos has sandy beaches, comfortable hotels, motels and camping facilities.

Kilyos is known for its beach resorts and has several beaches open to families as well as some catering to the party crowd. Located on the Black Sea, easily accessible from central Istanbul by city bus, minibus and ferries.

A delightful resort area on the European Black Sea shoreline that is only 35 km away from the city center. The road leading to Kilyos passes through the Belgrade Forest .

Kilyos has sandy beaches, comfortable hotels, motels and camping facilities. Besides the beaches there are small coves on the northeastern side of Kilyos. The bottom of the sea is rocky therefore families with small children may prefer the sandy beach locations. Sometimes-rough waves hit the coast.

In summer the beaches are packed and ideal for swimming but in fall and winter the weather is of course much cooler the beach takes on a more rugged feel. Enjoy the wild nature and watch the waves crash against the rocks while sipping on a cognac at one of the many hotel cafes.

Kadikoy's Caddebostan Beach was a hot spot in the 1950's and has recently reopened.

Kadikoy’s Caddebostan Beach was a hot spot in the 1950s and has recently reopened after being closed for almost 40 years.

Located in their eponymous Asian boroughs along the Sea of Marmara, This free beach has sun stretchers, changing rooms, toilets, showers and kiosks selling food and drinks. The beach has life guards for your safety.

However, as with anything free, it is packed most of the time. The people’s beaches get crowded once the schools shut their doors for the term, but their proximity to the shopping mecca of Bagdat Caddesi and location right smack in the center of the action might just offer the exhausted a much needed respite.
